Alan has over34 years of progressive experience in safety, health, training, security, media relations, environmental management, and Human Resources. He is currently the Corporate Safety and Training Director in Ames Construction, Inc., Burnsville, MN. He was the former District Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager of PCL Construction Services, Inc., Burnsville, MN. Alan taught as a public school teacher/ basketball coach for 9 years. Certified Safety Professional. M.S.-–Safety Management, Colorado State University, August 1979, B.A.—Secondary Education, Arizona State University, January 1970. He is a certified Incident Investigator, certified MSHA Instructor, OSHA 30 Instructor, First Aid/ CPR/ AED Instructor.

He has handled many projects including; Ames Construction, Mall of America, Mystic Lake Casino, USPS Expansion (MN OSHA STAR Project) with PCL Construction Services, OxyChem—chlorine/ caustic, sodium silicate, and phosphoric acid expansions, plant outages and demolition projects, Courtaulds Fibers— CS2 capture environmental project and chemical storage facility upgrade, which required crane team lifts, Vulcan Construction Materials—Simonton Sand and Gravel and 1604 Expansion projects

Earlier projects were Lafarge Construction Materials—Highway construction in 5 states, green and brown field mine site development, Barrick Goldstrike—built mine roads and crushed rock, Genesis Crude Oil, LLP—laid and integrity tested miles of oil and petro-chemical-carrying pipelines

(metals mining & refining),ColoWyo Coal Company, Tenneco/ Echo Bay Minerals (gold, soda ash mining), Imperial Sugar, consulting experiences: Dunlop Tire & Rubber and Response Management Associates (Murphy Oil and BP), Analyzed problem areas and developed solutions to reduce losses, which reduction occurred in all job assignments, Lead two facilities to OSHA STAR status and two Sentinels of Safety (mining)
